• Poll Everywhere

When searching one of the library databases, you usually should assume that:

  1. The most relevant records will be listed first.
  2. If you put two words next to each other, the system will search for them as a phrase.
  3. You’ll need to use Boolean operators.
  4. The system will automatically look for variant spellings & word endings.
  5. You should capitalize the first letters in names and words in a title.
  6. Limiting to “full text” gives you all the articles that the library has online.
  7. A keyword search searches the citations and the full text of articles.
  8. Subject terms are standardized across databases in a discipline.
  9. We can get you anything you need on interlibrary loan.
