Certify your phone number

If a presenter requires you to register and allows you to respond via text message, you will need to certify your number so the presenter can identify your responses.

Follow these steps to certify your mobile number:

Helpful tip: These steps assume you already have an account and are logged in. If you do not yet have an account, click here to sign up for free.

Step 1: Click the Settings icon in the top right corner and select My settings.

Step 2: Scroll down till you see the Mobile phone number field. Enter your phone number then click the Save button.

If you’ve previously provided your number and did not certify it, you will see a link you can click to certify your number at this time.

Step 3: Double check both your phone number and country code. If they appear correctly, select your country from the drop down list and follow the onscreen instructions (e.g. Text the word CERTIFY to the number provided).

Helpful tip: If you have selected a short code and experience trouble, your carrier may have disabled short codes. You can either select a standard phone number or call your carrier and ask them to re-enable short codes for your phone number.

Once your number has been certified, the page will refresh and you’ll see a happy little green notification telling you your number is certified.

Back on your settings page, you’ll also see that your number has been certified.

Helpful tip: Certifying your phone number will also pair all previous responses from that number to your account.
